因为在国外肆虐的疫情，大多数人不得不经历自我封闭（quarantine）的情况。某日在和国外朋友视频时，我突然产生了想要通过视频通话来拍摄朋友的想法。身为女孩，我发现女孩们在和他人视讯时，凝视者不仅包括了视讯对象，还包括了由于相貌焦虑导致不自觉凝视自己的女孩自己。于是，我想要在这样的双重凝视下，通过视讯镜头和女孩自己，去观察身处于quarantine中的女孩们，在她们私密的居住环境中，她们会想些什么，她们的状态如何。

说实话，我犹豫了两个星期，才开始做这个项目。因为许多人和我说过类似的项目有人做过，但我相信即便有人做相同的事情依旧会有不同的碰撞和火花，于是我决定放手一试。

「I see myself through your lens」 is a photography project about gazing at girls who have to experience self-isolation abroad.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 abroad, most people have to suffer from quarantine. One day when I was making a video with a friend from abroad, I suddenly had the idea of filming a friend by video calling. As a girl, I found that when girls were video-chatting with others, the gazer was always not the only one in the video, the girls themselves were involuntarily staring at themselves result from their appearance anxiety.

Therefore, I wanted to observe the quarantine girls, through the lens from the girls themselves who vid chat with me. In the end I wonder what they were thinking and how they were doing in their private living environment under this double gaze.

To tell you the truth, I hesitated for two weeks before I started the project. Because many people have told me that similar projects have been done, but I believe that even if someone does the same thing, there will still be different collisions and sparks, so I decided to give it a try.
